What is 1080p?

As a result, these screens are advertised as Full HD screens to draw attention to the higher definition clarity of the displays.

What is 720p?

1280X720 pixels are arranged in a square pattern on 720p panels, smaller than 1080p screens. Horizontal scan lines (also known as horizontal resolution) are measured by the number of horizontal scan lines on a screen.

This configuration was created for widescreen applications, requiring a more excellent resolution than the previous 480p screens. As a result, widescreen HDTV is used to describe TVs with this configuration.
