What is Aboriginal Skull?

The Aboriginal skull is found in the people that live in Australia. The Aboriginal skull is elongated and has an oval shape. In Aboriginal skulls cheekbones are more prominent and the chin portion is less when compared to Caucasian skull; these people have very large eye orbits and the ridges of the brows are large, especially in males.

The Aboriginal skull has a narrow nasal opening and the nose doesn’t have a noticeable tip like Caucasians. The teeth in the Aboriginal skull is large and widely spaced. An interesting fact is the nasal bridge of the Aboriginal skull, it is flat and isn’t pronounced like Caucasians. And also the zygomatic bones, i.e, cheekbones are very pronounced in them. The temporal fossa is not correctly filled in Aboriginal skulls and post-orbital constriction is visible on the skull.

What is Caucasian Skull?

The Caucasian skull is found in European descendants. Normally, Caucasians are known as white people or, most of them are Europeans. They have a long and narrow skull. The cheekbones are less pronounced in those race groups of people. Unlike aboriginal skulls, chins in Caucasian skulls are more pronounced.

Caucasoid skull has rectangular shaped eye orbits and, the brow ridges are less pronounced in them. Coming to the nasal region, they have a protruding nasal ridge. The nose isn’t flared like Aboriginals. Teeth in Caucasian skull is small in size and are packed closely. The eye orbits in Caucasian skills appear to be sloped when viewed from the front region. The margins in eye sockets are called ‘aviator sunglasses’ in Caucasian skull because it resembles aviator sunglasses.

European skulls are also referred to as Caucasoid or Caucasian. The cranium of the Caucasian skull is high in height and the sagittal contour is round.
