What is Aboriginal?

The word Aboriginal comes from the Latin Aborigines, referring to the Aborigines of the continent. Aboriginal people are the indigenous people of the continent but do not live there and are scattered worldwide.

Since Aboriginal peoples are scattered around the world, they have a wider and broader perspective. Most Aboriginal people are isolated and it is difficult to count the population accurately; therefore, the Aboriginal population is large.

In Aboriginal tribes, people are scattered worldwide, providing them with specific tasks, legislative provisions, and legal protection. On December 30, 2010, the Republic of the Congo implemented a law promoting and protecting the rights of indigenous peoples, known as indigenous peoples. This law is a phenomenon and one of its kind in Africa, and its recognition becomes one of the historical developments of the indigenous peoples of the continent.

Indigenous peoples have darker skin compared to the indigenous peoples of Africa, some are Igorots, Bretons, and sometimes fair skin is also observed in their tribes.

What is African?

Africans are said to be natives of Africa and they live in that continent. The ‘Afri’ word comes from the Latin word which means dwellers of Northern Africa to the west of the Nile river, and also it is referred to all the lands of Southern Mediterranean.

Similarly, the word ‘Afar’ means dust, and ‘Afri’ refers to a resident of caves. In addition, Flavius Josephus stated that Africa existed from the name ‘Epher’, who was the grandson of Abraham whose descendants occupied Libya. Also, Isidore of Seville proposes that it comes from a Latin word called ‘Aprica’ which means sunshine.

The population of Africa is accurate as people are confined to the continent and easily located as compared to Aboriginals, which are isolated and difficult to find. The approximate population of Africans in the year 2018 was 1,287,920,518. As they are the second most populated continent.

Difference Between Aboriginal and African

  1. Aboriginals are people who are natives of the continent but dispersed in other different countries. whereas Africans are the original natives of the continent, where they lived and were called Africans.
  2. Aboriginals are scattered throughout the world and have wider scope whereas Africans are confined to the continent and have limited scope.
  3. The population ratio in Aboriginals is inaccurate as they are spread worldwide. On the other hand, Africans have an accurate population ratio as they are confined to the continent.
  4. Africans are less dark in terms of complexity as compared to Aboriginals.
