What is Alpha Kappa Alpha?

What is Delta Sigma Theta?

The symbol also represents the Greek letter delta sigma theta. It is a Greek-lettered sorority that is predominantly comprised of African Americans. The organization’s inception was spearheaded by women with college degrees who were devoted to public service, with a special focus on activities that benefitted the African-American community. It was established on the 13th of January, 1913. Twenty-three women from Howard University in Washington, D.C. came up with the concept in 1989.

Those who satisfied the requirements might join, regardless of religion, race, or national origin. After completing their undergraduate degrees, women were welcome to join through the undergraduate chapter. It has more than 300,000 members, most of whom are college-educated female professionals.
